Integrated Studies

Our Integrated Studies program provides students with rich, meaningful learning experiences that deepen their understanding of the world and develop essential knowledge and skills for life. Through engaging, hands-on and inquiry-based learning, students explore real-world topics, make connections across learning areas and develop a greater understanding of themselves, their community and the wider world.

Curriculum Design

Our Integrated Studies program is based on the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and provides a consistent, connected learning experience across the school.

  • Whole-school approach: All year levels explore the same Integrated Studies unit of work, creating a shared focus for learning across the school.

  • Scaffolded learning: Content, activities and learning expectations are differentiated across year levels to reflect students’ developmental stages, prior knowledge and individual learning needs.

  • Big ideas and guiding questions: Each unit is built around a central theme or guiding question that encourages students to investigate, ask questions and make meaningful connections.

  • Collaborative planning: Teachers work together to design engaging learning experiences that address curriculum requirements and develop essential skills and capabilities.

Our units explore a range of topics, including Digital Technologies, Sustainability and Geography. These themes provide opportunities for students to investigate contemporary issues, develop practical skills and understand how their learning connects to the world around them.

Learning Through Inquiry

Students are encouraged to investigate ideas, ask questions, explore different perspectives and apply their learning to real-world situations. Through these experiences, they develop important skills in:

  • Communication – sharing ideas, explaining thinking and presenting learning.

  • Creativity – generating ideas and considering different possibilities.

  • Collaboration – working with others, listening to different perspectives and contributing to shared goals.
