Leadership Opportunities for All Students

These opportunities may include:

  • Classroom monitors
  • Peer helpers
  • Digital leaders
  • Sports leaders
  • Wellbeing champions
  • Library helpers
  • Environmental leaders

Student Voice at TMPS

Students are provided with regular opportunities to share their thoughts, ideas and feedback through:

  • Classroom discussions

  • Surveys

  • Circle time

  • Wellbeing check-ins

  • Student conferences

  • SRC meetings

  • SWPBS student forums

Teachers actively seek student input to help guide class agreements, learning goals and wellbeing practices. When students contribute to shaping their learning environment, they develop a stronger sense of ownership, belonging and pride in their school.

Partnering with Families

Families play an important role in fostering student voice and leadership. Parents and carers can support leadership development by encouraging children to:

  • Express their opinions respectfully.

  • Ask questions and share ideas.

  • Take responsibility for everyday tasks.

  • Show initiative and problem-solving skills.

  • Participate in leadership opportunities at school.

Simple conversations such as "What do you think would make school even better?" or "What leadership role would you like to try?" can help build confidence and communication skills.

At Thomastown Meadows Primary School, we are proud of the leadership shown by our students and the thoughtful ways they contribute to school life. By empowering student voice, we are helping our young learners grow into confident, capable and compassionate leaders of the future.
